Just a 10 minute drive North of Summerlin on the 215 Beltway, Centennial Hills is one of the fastest growing areas in the Las Vegas valley. With the Beltway circling the area and the Interstate 95 running through it, Centennial Hills is only 20 minutes to the North end of the Strip, another 5-10 minutes to McCarran International Airport. In addition to the conveniences of the strip, residents enjoy Centennial Hills because of the proximity to the outdoor lifestyle. At the Northwest edge of the desert, many residents go four wheeling and off-roading. In the winter, this area is only half an hour from the ski slopes at Mt. Charleston.

Golf courses in the area include Painted Desert, Durango Hills, and Silverstone Ranch. The Paiute Indian reservation which is only 5 minutes North on the 95 freeway, offers three world class PGA caliber courses in a picturesque setting. Painted Desert is a guard gated community that also features condos, townhomes, and single family homes. Homes in Painted Desert range from the '90's to the early 2000's. Silverstone golf course features homes built by Pulte starting in 2004 until the present.

The newest master planned community in Centennial Hills is Providence. A FOCUS Group community, this one is designed to create a small town America feel with trees, baseball parks, promenades, statues of famous authors and over 4000 trees lining the streets. Builders involved include KB Homes, Pardee, Pulte, Lennar, Woodside, Meritage and Toll Brothers.

The commercial center of Centennial Hills is along Durango Drive where the new Centennial Hills Hospital is located. The area is already growing with shopping and restaurants. Triple 5 has plans and permits for an outdoor shopping mall with major retailers on land near the Hospital. From Durango, going East on Centennial Parkway leads to major auto dealers as well as what will eventually be one million square feet of retail space, including a large 24 hour fitness opening late in 2008.

One of the newest amenities in the community is the Centennial Hills Park. Located on Buffalo between Deer Springs and Elkhorn, the park features a YMCA that offers two indoor and two outdoor pools, two gymnasiums, dance and weight rooms along with a shaded outdoor park. Ten volleyball courts, two soccer fields and picnic areas are also available. The next addition to the park will be the Centennial Hills Library which is scheduled to open in January 2009. The 45,000 square foot facility is being built on a 7 acre site. It will house over 110,000 volumes when completed and is seeking the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) silver certification. A three hundred seat theatre is planned for future development.

In addition to the new homes being built by major developers, this community offers many choices for those who prefer a custom home on a large lot. There are still large parcels available to build your own home on a half acre or more. Due to the elevation of this part of town, some parcels feature Strip views. For those who need a home that is already standing, custom homes in this area range from the upper $300's to several million. The most expensive home to sell in the area was an 8000 square foot home built in 2005 on an acre with a 10 car garage which was purchased for $2.7 million in March, 2007. The most expensive current listing is $6.495 million for a 9212 square foot home built in 2004 on slightly over two acres with a 7 car garage.

Due to the large parcels of land, this is also a popular area for equestrians. Vacant land that is zoned equestrian is still available. Horse properties with homes and facilities, range from the $300's to several million. The most expensive equestrian property currently available is listed for $8.9 million for an 8236 square foot home built in 1998 that features an elevator and media room with an arena and six horse stalls on 10 acres.
