Fremont Street in downtown Las Vegas continues to attract new businesses and visitors.  We recently took some time to show a friend a bit of the downtown area.  Starting with Happy Hour at Mundo in the World Market Center, on to Le Thai and then exploring the action on the street.

Even on a Monday night in June, folks were out enjoying the free band and the Zip line that allows you to go flying over the crowds at 30 mph.  Tickets for the Zip Line are currently $15 before 6 p.m., $20 after 6 p.m.

There are some great new dining options.  Le Thai offers some of the best Pad Thai in town, they have a full bar, and reasonable prices, all in a relaxed atmosphere.  For the adventurous, there is the Heart Attack Grill where two diners have had heart

The Smith Center Cabaret Jazz series is demonstrating that Smith Center isn't only a place for theatre, symphony and dance.  The Center was designed with a smaller hall which only seats 258 that is now hosting the Cabaret Jazz Series.  We're fans of smaller, more intimate venues and have been looking forward to seeing a show in this setting.

This past week-end, featured Lucy Woodward an artist we weren't familiar with but we were intrigued when @SmithCenterLV tweeted "Here's a song for all the vampires out there...you can catch Lucy Woodward this Friday and Saturday at Cabaret... http://fb.me/1A0WrDLZJ "  That's just the sort of sassy, bluesy, jazzy music we happen to like.  Still, we already had dinner plans with friends for Saturday night and our

Starting with cocktails and a basket of their fresh bread accompanied with olive tapenades, the entire meal was wonderful.  We started with their Greek Salad which was not your typical version, but instead used baby red romaine lettuces topped with a phyllo triangle.  To go with the

The Bellagio Fountains have become a symbol of Las Vegas.  Whether it's in a movie or on the news, when you see those fountains, you know the location is at the Bellagio Hotel on the Las Vegas Strip.

For those of us who live in Las Vegas, we may not go to visit the Strip unless we're playing tour guide, or like some of us who frequently end up on the Strip as part of our work.  Having lived in Las Vegas for ten years now, I would still include the Bellagio Fountains as one of my favorite sites to see and a must see for anyone who comes to visit.

The Bellagio held its grand opening in 1998.  It was developed by visionary/Casino Mogul Steve Wynn and later sold to MGM.  With excellent service, established restaurants and other popular attractions
