Best Nevada VA Mortgage Lenders

Buying a home can be a major investment. Luckily, there are a number of different types of mortgages out there for buyers to consider. Some people qualify for a VA loan too, which is packed with benefits for potential homebuyers.

If you’re in the market for a VA loan in Nevada, you’ll want to find a licensed, qualified lender. Luckily U.S. News did some of the hard work for you in coming up with a list of what it considers some of the “Best Nevada Mortgage Lenders of 2022”.

Streamline Home Loans

Based in Las Vegas, Streamline Home Loans is one of the fastest growing lenders in the country. With offices in both Summerlin and Henderson, they're an easy choice for potential VA borrowers in the Vegas area and their customer service is among the best in the business.

Guild Mortgage

The folks at Guild Mortgage have also been one of the better lenders we've worked with personally over the years. As an established mortgage company, they have plenty of experience with just about every mortgage product available to home buyers, including VA loans. Additionally, their local branch in Eagle, Idaho has a partnership with Blue Star Mothers, a nonprofit organization for mothers of U.S. military members, to send care packages to local troops serving abroad.

Veterans United Home Loans

Veterans United Home Loans actually specializes in VA loans, but also has some non-VA loans for borrowers to consider. Founded in the early 2000s, it is based out of Missouri. Veterans United offers zero percent down for a VA loan. Like some others, Veterans United requires a minimum credit score of 620.

PenFed Credit Union

Another lender on the list is PenFed Credit Union, which is more formally known as Pentagon Federal Credit Union. It offers borrowers the choice of several different types of mortgages, including a VA loan. With its VA loan it offers a zero percent down payment but requires a minimum credit score of 620. Based out of the DC area, PenFed has been around since the mid 1930s and already serves well more than two-million members. You do have to have a credit union membership with PenFed.

Caliber Home Loans

U.S. News also ranks Caliber Home Loans as one of the top mortgage lenders in Nevada. The website and publication points out Caliber gets an “A+” rating from the Better Business Bureau. Carrington Mortgage Services

Yet another option for VA loans in Nevada is Carrington Mortgage Services. It’s just one type of loan Carrington offers, as the lender also has FHA, USDA, ARM, conventional loans and can help with refinancing. This makes it possible to sometimes get a loan from Carrington with either no down payment or potentially a low down payment.

Truist Bank

Truist Bank also makes the list of top lenders in Nevada for 2022. The lender offers VA loans, as well as FHA, ARM, conventional loans, and others. Truist has its headquarters in North Carolina. The name has only been around a few years, but the bank was actually formed by the merger of BB&T and SunTrust banks.

As one of the largest banks in the world, Chase has been around since the late 1700s. The bank offers VA loans, plus a number of other different types of loans in states like Nevada. The bank gets an “A+” rating from the Better Business Bureau.
